1. About This Policy

Moskowitz Business Advisory Inc. is an advisory business based in Ontario, Canada. We respect your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.

This policy follows the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). It applies to information we collect through our website, our LinkedIn Lead Gen forms, our Google Calendar booking page for The Clarity Session, email, LinkedIn messages and our work with clients.

2. Who Is Responsible for Your Information

David Moskowitz is responsible for MBA's privacy practices and for making sure we follow this policy. You can contact him with any question or request about your personal information:

3. What Personal Information We Collect

We collect only the information we need for the purposes described in this policy. This may include:

  • Contact details from LinkedIn Lead Gen forms: your name, email address and phone number, and your job title and company if you provide them.
  • Booking details: information you give when you book an appointment through Google Calendar, such as your name, email address and the time you choose. Sessions are held by Google Meet.
  • Pre-session intake questionnaire: your answers about your goals, experience, resources and the business opportunity you want to discuss. This may include financial information and any documents you choose to share with us.
  • Emails and invoices: messages you send us and the details we need to bill you.
  • LinkedIn messages: messages you send us through LinkedIn.

You decide what to share in the intake questionnaire and in any documents. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing and what is useful for your session.

4. Why We Collect and Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your inquiries;
  • schedule and deliver sessions, including The Clarity Session (a 90-minute session for $300);
  • send invoices and process payment;
  • prepare for and provide advice;
  • send you follow-up messages about your session or our services;
  • improve our services;
  • run and measure our LinkedIn advertising; and
  • publish testimonials, but only with your permission.

We will not use your information for a new purpose without first telling you and, where required, asking for your consent.

5. Your Consent

We collect, use and share your personal information with your consent. You give consent when you submit a LinkedIn Lead Gen form, book a session, complete the intake questionnaire, or contact us. We will ask for your express permission before publishing any testimonial.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by contacting us using the details in section 2. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to provide some or all of our services. We will explain what that means for you.

6. Confidentiality

We keep client information confidential. We use it only to provide our services to you. We do not sell your personal information.

7. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We use the following service providers to run our business, and they may handle your information on our behalf:

  • LinkedIn: for Lead Gen forms, messages and advertising.
  • Cloudflare: website hosting and privacy-friendly visit counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics).
  • Google: Google Calendar (booking), Google Meet (sessions), Gmail (email) and Google Drive (storing documents and records).
  • Invoicing and payment methods: by Interac e-Transfer.

These providers handle information under their own terms and privacy policies. We share only what is needed for them to provide their service.

We may also disclose personal information if the law requires it.

8. Storage Outside Canada

Some of our service providers may store or process your information outside Canada, for example in the United States. When that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it under those laws.

9. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires (for example, for tax and accounting records). We keep client records for 6 years after a session or engagement ends. When we no longer need information, we securely delete or destroy it.

10. How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use or disclosure. These include:

  • using password-protected accounts with trusted service providers;
  • limiting access to your information to people who need it to provide our services; and
  • securely deleting information we no longer need.

No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Accuracy

We try to keep your information accurate and up to date. Please let us know if any of your details change.

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete; and
  • Withdraw your consent to our use of your information, as described in section 5.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 2. We may need to confirm your identity before we respond. We will respond within the time allowed by law.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

13. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits in a privacy-friendly way, for example how many people visit and which pages they view. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build a personal profile of you. We do not use any other analytics or advertising tracking on this website.
